A Look Inside Vengeance

The Bible offers many guidelines for successful living. Two, in particular, stand out in regard to your treatment of your enemies.

Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written. ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay, says the Lord.” Romans 12: 18-20

Or

“Show no pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.” Deuteronomy 19:21

Which inspirational verse would you choose to follow if your husband was brutally murdered, your unborn son was aborted as a result of the trauma and the killer sent someone to kill you?

Charley Howard must make that decision after her husband is violently murdered.

Everyone advises her to let the Metro Nashville Police handle the investigation. “There is nothing she can do,” they say, “besides it would be too dangerous for her to do anything on her own.” Nashville crime lord Jack Schmidt is too ruthless and his organization is too big for a single woman to handle.

Or

She could seek vengeance on her own. The only weapon she has is her burning desire to see Schmidt suffer. But is her passion and her wits any match for a ruthless killer?

Her decision could cost her life. Is revenge that important?
